Akanbi Bamidele, popularly known as Superboy Cheque or just Cheque is a Nigerian singer and rapper currently signed to Phyno’s Penthauze Records. He has carved a niche for himself in the Nigerian music scene by creating a smooth blend between trap music and Afro-pop music. He is most known for his 2020 hit single, Zoom.
Cheque was born on the 23rd of March, 1995, in Ondo State. He also had most of his early education there. Cheque is a graduate of Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University in Osun State and he bagged a first-class degree. He started his music career in 2015 while still in the university. At the time, his stage name was Kyle-B. Cheque got signed to Penthauze Records in February 2019 after he was discovered by Phyno through one of his Instagram freestyle videos. He went on to release a couple of songs in 2019.
In June 2020, he released his 5-track Razor-EP, which housed his hit single, Zoom. He has been riding that wave ever since.
