Joseph Akinfenwa Donus, Popularly known as Joeboy has become a household name, particularly in Nigeria. He has carved a niche for himself making surreal afro-pop music and touring the continent of Africa.
Joseph was born on the 21st of May 1997 to a very musical family. His older brother was in the choir and his dad played keyboard in the church. He started chasing music professionally when he got into the University of Lagos (Unilag), where he recorded his first single titled, Gbeseyein at the age of 17.
Joeboy later released a cover to Ed Sheeran's Shape of you which gained massive tract across the country and got a little taste of quick fame. Banku Music Head-honcho, Mr Eazi came across the video and decided to sign him. Joeboy's first single on Banku Music featured Mr Eazi and it was titled Faaji. Joeboy went on to release Baby in march, 2019 and this kick-started Joeboy's rise to stardom. Baby top the charts in different countries before Joeboy released Beginning.
Joeboy's big break came when he released Baby. The record arguably became the biggest song of 2019.
