For 18 year old multi-instrumentalist, Kyle Roberts, music is an incisively poignant art form, which, when seen this way, may serve as the vehicle for expression of one’s most innermost experience. 

Inspired by a wide range of bygone legends, from Robert " Sonny" Johnson, Lead Belly, Joe Bonamassa and Muddy Waters, Roberts pulls together the best and integrates them seamlessly as if a piece of each were fused into one. Whether it is on the guitar, trumpet, or the piano, the Wisconsin-raised talent has a sound set to tug the heart-strings; with interesting licks and phrases which set a modestly reflective and introspective tone. 

For Roberts, music and art have been a pivotal part of his coming of age. While picking up the trumpet, and finding an old 6-string electric collecting dust in the corner of his mother's friend’s house soon after, Kyle most indeed discovered a means of cathartic release given his unfortunate childhood which involved domestic violence and the incarceration of his father. As a result, we are treated to a truly humbling listening experience, which could be likened to a kind of auditory reverie depicting the collection of emotional memories, as they bind to form Roberts’ identity. 

With the success of his debut album, ‘Rough Draft’ (which can be found on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play), released in November this year, Kyle is on the verge of furthering this cruisy, yet ever-steady momentum, as he prepares for a radio promotional tour in January 2017 for the album. Combined with this, Kyle’s dedication to the craft extends to his passion for carpentry, sculpting his own cigar box acoustics with the intention of passing on his love for music to others, in the hope they too can enjoy what it has gifted to him so dearly.
