Terry Potter Rain (TPR) is a Zimbabwean born singer, songwriter, rapper and producer. Known for his elaborate and innovative fusion of poetry and rap, Terry started singing as a member of the ZRP High School Choral Group were he nurtured his creative skills from 2008 up until 2010. In between those years he recorded his first demo titled “The Terry Potter Show” which was picked up by AMG Music group via MySpace.

Originally, he was offered a contract to sign with the label but instead opted to remain independent and build a partnership with the label executives Kerry Lee and Martin Chiyangwa. On 8 June 2011, Terry Potter announced via Twitter that he had launched his own label alongside AMG Music which was originally named AM/TNT Music.

Eventually, the label went on to complete the merger in 2012 and has since changed its name to AMTNT Music Group. Along the years, Terry has worked for the label as the executive Head of Talent Relations and also one of the 5 main producers working with a number of talented individuals from across the world. In early 2012, Terry Potter announced that he was nolonger capable of recording music due to a long-term illness which sidelined him for most of the year but he remained active on the label working as the Creative Director. However, around 2013 he returned to music and was part of the creative team for Tinashe Kachingwe's platinum selling album "Aquarius". He also began working directly with most of the artists signed under AMTNT Music and producing The Foundation compilation series of albums by the label’s signees over the years, going on to feature himself on some of the tracks as a rapper and producer now using the last name “Rain” which he described as "the symbolic reason why he was healed from illness". He has gone on to release “The ZimGangster Mixtape” in 2014, and in June 2015 he made history by becoming the first Zimbabwean rapper to release a fully live recorded album titled “The Emegilda EP” which was received with mixed reactions amongst many of his followers and critics but went to be highly successful on the international charts.

However, TPR was greatly unmoved and went on to Executive Produce two other albums for AMTNT, “Stay Tuned 2” and “Stay Tuned 3” both which featured various indie artists and became the most played and requested Zimbabwean hip-hop albums on various social networks in 2015. Late on in October of the same year, he went on to record another live album titled “The Maxine Reed EP” which he described as his most lyrical work yet and dedicated it to one of his close friends by the same name as the title. The album featured hit singles such as “Only Human Part 1”, “Nothing Else Matters” and the highly satirical parody rock track “Heyy Yung” which he dedicated to a former artist/co-worker. Currently working on his third album, TPR has continued his tenure as AMTNT Music co-founder and Executive Producer/ Head Of Talent Relations, working with artists from all over the world that include Yemi Alade, Regina Spektor, Tinashe Kachingwe, Wizkid, Rocky Lee, Karyn Socci, Tha TwinZ, AWA, Cardi B, Nemo Da Nemesis, Tunna and Ms. Chief amongst others.
